YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT
Philosophy & Style
We know the benefits of eating healthy, getting adequate sleep, and keeping our bodies active. Now we know our mental health is important too, but many report not feeling better despite participating in therapy. This is where Beyond The Couch approaches our clients with a clear intention to offer insight, direction and paths to lasting changes.
Building a trusting, non-judgmental relationship is the foundation of all therapeutic work. We offer a collaborative, goal-oriented and direct approach while providing a supportive environment to empower clients making effective changes. A safe, healing space is offered while also gently pushing you beyond your comfort zone.
In sessions, you can expect that you will be asked, “What do you want to get out of your session today?” The focus will be tailored accordingly and you may be gently guided back if we move off track. Connections from your past may also be drawn upon as to their impact on you today. Sometimes, you may discover something on your own; other days, reflections will be offered for further consideration. It is our hope that you get something out of every session and time spent in therapy.
Beyond The Couch is LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcomes clients from all members of the community. We believe your race, ethnicity, gender identity, background and belief system are all important parts of who you are and how you can best supported.
